THREE THINGS ABOUT ME

Screen Shot 2018-04-07 at 11.07.25 AMI set my Goodreads challenge to the year and use it to keep track of what I read/how many pages I read more than as a challenge because I put too much pressure on myself on the daily.

I have a book from my childhood that is actually a library book from my elementary school. I checked it out so many times that the librarian gave it to me at the end of the year. I’m certain I was the only student to check out the book. It’s called Top Secret  by John Reynolds Gardiner Illustrated by Marc Simont

I have two tattoos! My first is a quote from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll in my own handwriting that says, “We’re all mad here” and my second is Boris Karloff as Frankenstein’s monster.

MARINA‘S QUESTIONS!

Is there anything you’re proud of doing/achieving and what is it?

I’m extremely proud of my work ethic and my dedication to achieving my goals. I told my parents when I was 14 that I wanted to be an actor and I haven’t stopped working for it since that day. It’s not always easy – in fact it rarely is – but it is always always worth it.

In your perfect dictatorship daydream, which book would you ban and which book would you give to the masses for free?

32075671Hmm, I don’t know that there’s a book I would ban. I read banned books so I doubt my banning of a book would stop people reading it. However, a book I would give to the masses, how do I choose one!? The most recent book I’ve read that I want EVERYONE to read is The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. “People are realizing and shouting and marching and demanding. They’re not forgetting.” This book should be required reading. Angie Thomas has an incredible voice and way of creating characters. I had the chance to meet her and hear her speak at the LA Times Festival of Books in 2017. When asked what she would like readers to take away from her book she simply said five words: “Empathy is stronger than sympathy.” I think that says it all.

If Edward Cullen bit you and you gained immortality, what would you dedicate your life to? After being properly disinfected and de-sparkeld of course.

First of all, #TeamEdward always + forever. Second, think of all the books you could read within an immortal life!

Imagine your ultimate reading moment – the setting, the time, the weather conditions, the chair coziness aspect, every bit.

I’m torn between choosing outside and inside. Outside: at the pool on one of those floating chaise loungers with a big floppy hat and spf 100 (I burn very easily). Inside: on an oversized arm chair next to a lit fireplace with a never empty cup of tea and a rainstorm or snowstorm raging outside.

Why is  a raven like a writing desk?

I haven’t the slightest idea!
